It is open the call Consolidator Grant 2017 (ERC-2017-COG) belonging to the European Research Council H2020 program.
This call provides funding opportunity for projects in the frontier of knowledge, high risk and high potential, although scientifically viable.
Scientific excellence (of the project idea and the academic background of the proposing person) is the sole criterion of evaluation.
It operates on a “bottom-up” basis without predetermined priorities. Proposals may be submitted on any field of knowledge.
Applicants may be scientists of any nationality and age, belonging to the UPM or who want to develop their project at UPM.
Basic information about the call:
-Date Closing: 09/02/2017 (17: 00h)
-Budget: 575 M €, 320 projects approx are expected to be financed.

-The Projects can have a budget of up to 2M € for a period of 5 years. (See ERC Work Programme 2017). It covers 100% of the total eligible costs and 25% of indirect costs.
-Although is open to all fields of knowledge, the evaluation is done by panels. It is important to know thoroughly the assessment process and the distribution panels, for it, consult with the PEO.

Purpose of the Consolidator Grants:
These grants are aimed at excellent researchers who at this stage of his career still need to consolidate their own research team.
With a threshold between> 7 and ≤ 12 years after his reading thesis. That is, they have had to obtain the degree of doctor between 01/01/2005 and 31/12/2009 inclusive. This requirement may vary depending on certain circumstances: maternity, paternity, military service, etc .. (see page 17 ERC 2017 Work Programme.).
