The purpose of the program is to provide students in disciplines related to Information and Communications Technologies with a thorough knowledge of research techniques so that they are able to address and solve new scientific and technological problems through research in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This general objective can be complemented with an additional goal intrinsic to the content and purpose of the degree based on the binomial innovatetoinvestigate and investigatetoinnovate.
The former suggests innovative lines of research in AI that are capable of combining specialized training with the creativity that underlies original, active and productive research trajectories. The latter is directed towards the ability to be creative in addressing and solving problems through research in AI.
Duration: 60 ECTS credits ( One academic year)
|ACHIEVEMENTS||Our program excels for the productivity of our faculty and for its ability to attract research funds and contracts with companies. In the last 10 years they obtained more than 14 million Euros in competitive national and international (UE 7th FP, H2020) research funds, and more than 7 million Euros in contracts.
We foster the internationalization of our PhDs through a large network of contacts involving more than 190 research groups in more than 30 countries.
Our faculty and students receive national and international awards such as the prestigious fellowships from the European Association for Artificial Intelligence (Prof. Pedro Larrañaga) and the Americal College of Medical Informatics (Prof. Víctor Maojo), National Aritmel Computer Science Award (Profs. Manuel Hermenegildo, Pedro Larrañaga, Asunción Gómez), runnerup Best Spanish PhD dissertation in Computer Vision (Dr. Pablo Márquez), Fujitsu Labs Europe Innovation Award (Mr. Daniel Vila, Mr. Alejandro Fernández).
